Visa waivers between China and Kazakhstan are set to begin this month
China and Kazakhstan's "Mutual Visa Waiver Agreement" will be officially implemented on November 10.
According to the Beijing News Network today, according to the agreement between China and Kazakhstan, Chinese citizens with government passports, ordinary passports and travel documents, Kazakh citizens with ordinary passports and proof of return to the country, personal affairs, and business activities (including negotiations, signing contracts, consulting, etc.) can travel without a visa. Those who enter, leave or carry cargo for the purposes of service and other business, tourism, medical treatment, international transportation and transportation will be exempt from visas on the condition that the stay in the other country does not exceed 30 days from the time of entry and the total stay does not exceed 90 days in every 180 days. People who do not meet the above conditions should apply for a visa.
It is reported that in 1994, the governments of China and Kazakhstan signed the "Reciprocal Travel Agreement between Citizens", allowing citizens of both countries with diplomatic or work passports to stay for 30 days without a visa.
Observers say that China treats the people of East Turkistan differently, that the Chinese will still be the first to take advantage of the visa exemption agreement to be implemented, and that the Kazakhs in East Turkistan, especially the Uyghurs, will continue to be under restrictions and control, which will cause them various difficulties starting with passport processing.
