In April this year, 28-year-old discus thrower Abdugeni Turgun participated in the shooting event of the 2025 Chinese Athletics Championships held in Chengdu, China. It broke the Chinese record in the discus throw that had stood since 1996 with a result of 65.35 meters. He has now extended his record by another two meters.
While China is committing genocide against Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples in East Turkistan and restricting them in various fields, many outstanding athletes are still emerging, demonstrating the courageous spirit and strength of the Uyghurs.
