The warning of one of the Uyghur internet stars to his followers reveals the crackdown of the Chinese regime on Uyghurs.
Voice of America Radio reported today that Shrin, a Uyghur internet star who lives in the Chinese province of Guangdong and has more than 600,000 followers on Douin (the Chinese version of TikTok), exposed China's crimes and warned Uyghurs not to heed his warning, otherwise the Chinese regime will severely suppress them.
On November 21, he asked his followers in a video posted on the Douin platform, "don't say you didn't warn me. Otherwise, you will pay for your ignorance when your turn comes". In addition, he also revealed that China is widely monitoring Uyghurs, saying that China has the ability to monitor everyone's online activities, including social media interactions, and that liking or commenting on followers' online social media content can have serious consequences. He also confirmed that the government will investigate who supports the person and who criticizes him.
He often broadcasts pro-Chinese videos, and in an eight-minute video posted on Douin from Guangdong province, he urged Uyghurs to be careful and warned them not to express their opinions publicly.
