Uyghur Girls Given Away to Chinese Tourists

Some footages that reveal the sacred concept of “marriage” being used as a tool of genocide and colonization by the CCP regime in occupied East Turkistan have caused reactions on social media.
Recently, a video of Uyghur girls taking the stage in front of the place marked as a tourist attraction with a signboard “Kucha Wang Palace” and throwing flower balls at Chinese (tourist) men who have gathered around them to choose their wives according to Chinese traditions (as per the plot) has been circulating on social media originating from China.
VEIL WAS FORMED FOR FUN
In the images, a beautiful Uyghur girl, half of whose face is wearing a veil for fun, is arranged for marriage by a Chinese host and tourist like “Chinese goods” in the market.
According to Chinese history, the practice of “throwing flower balls” is one of the ancient Chinese wedding traditions, but recently this practice has become frowned upon among the Chinese.
İlşat Hasan Köbörü, an expert on Chinese affairs, said in an interview with Radio Free Asia (RFA) that the Chinese government uses various forms of propaganda to marry Uyghur girls to Chinese men.
UYGHUR GIRLS GAVE AWAY ON LIVE BROADCAST
Another issue that has drawn attention on social media is the live chat content broadcasted on social media platforms by the Chinese state-supported marriage offices, which have been increasing in number recently, where Chinese men and Uyghur girls are introduced. Even though it is not welcomed by society, the fact that the regime supports it prevents people from pursuing the issue further.
As is known, the private enterprises in question, supported by the so-called “Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region” Public Affairs Administration in East Turkistan, serve the policy of “forced marriage of Uyghur girls to Chinese people”.
While China’s systematic genocide policies against the people of East Turkistan continue and countless families have been torn apart by the disappearance of most Uyghur men after the mass arbitrary arrests that began in 2017, the Chinese regime’s policies to encourage Uyghur girls to marry Chinese men, and even the advertisements, announcements and campaigns that expose this disgrace to the public on Chinese-based social media platforms, are noteworthy.
Furthermore, it is known that rapists who have gained various legal statuses with the support of the regime have begun to establish institutions that do this job professionally and have even created an increasing number of websites and applications for this purpose. So much so that some Chinese social media users have become bold enough to openly express their desire to marry Uyghur girls, while some Chinese settlers who have overstepped the limits are supporting the regime's campaign by sharing posts with Uyghur women they were forced to marry under the hashtag "Marrying beautiful Uyghur girls". Ilşat Hasan commented that although these videos may seem like a simple Live broadcast, they are actually part of a campaign organized by the Chinese government to "market" Uyghur girls to the Chinese.
UYGHUR WOMEN'S BODIES ARE BEING COLONIZED!
Henryk Szadziewski, a researcher at the Uyghur Human Rights Project, spoke about the two videos mentioned above and said that this is a truly sad situation.
"This is an oppression," he said. "Destroying Uyghur traditions, transferring the traditions of the Chinese and various ceremonies that they themselves have abandoned to the Uyghurs. So I have to say that these two clips are full of insults towards the Uyghur people. This is often the case in a colonized area.
In other words, the bodies of Uyghur women have become part of the colonization and oppression of the colonial Chinese men. So, the aim here is very clear. The relationship here is not between nations but between the power of the colonizing men and the power of the colonized women. In this way, the Chinese government directly encourages the Chinese to migrate to East Turkistan and settles and accommodates them through the commercialization of the bodies of Uyghur women. This further reinforces the colonization. This situation is worrying. Another additional point is that the Chinese who shoot and publish these videos earn extra money from this content.
Henryk Szadziewski concluded his words as follows: “I read somewhere that the Uyghurs, despite the occupation of their lands by the Chinese and the Chinese Communist Party, consider their bodies to be autonomous. Especially among the Uyghurs who live according to Islamic beliefs and treat their bodies with respect. It is clear that this includes abstaining from alcohol and protecting the female body from foreign objects. This belief is connected to religion, but I see it as a way to keep the Uyghur body independent of the Chinese Communist Party. Their bodies were “territory” that the Chinese and the CCP could not touch. Although they occupied Uyghur lands, they could not occupy their bodies. What we are seeing now is that the Chinese men and the CCP are breaking through this barrier through the bodies of Uyghur women. These bodies no longer belong to the Uyghurs. They belong to the Chinese and the CCP. As we have always said, this is a form of colonization.”
In November 2022, the Uyghur Human Rights Project (UHRP) released a comprehensive report titled “The Forced Marriage of Uyghur Women: The Chinese Government’s Interethnic Marriage Policy in East Turkistan,” stating that the Chinese government systematically implemented the policy of marrying Uyghur women to Chinese men as a state policy. In fact, it has been proven to be a tool of the policy of assimilation and cultural genocide.
