Ms. Rushan Abbas said that during the Doha Forum, she met with many officials, especially with members of parliament from the United Kingdom, and discussed with them the genocide against the Uyghurs, forced labor, and exchanged views on what should be done to make the world aware of the crimes against humanity committed by China against the Uyghurs and to work together to keep them on the agenda of their countries.
During the meeting, Mr. Abdulhakim Idris met with leaders of most of the intellectual groups and discussed with them ways of cooperation between them.
Mr. Abdulhakim Idris gave a presentation of the topics that were focused on during the meeting. He said, "What I highlighted most in my meetings is China's destruction of Uyghur culture in the name of urban renewal." The issue of destroying Uyghur heritage was very important. For example, the genocide and ethnic cleansing that the Uyghurs are currently suffering from, including forced labor and modern slavery. In addition, there are many problems related to forcing Uyghurs to work in the production of batteries for electric cars, and she explained them with clear examples. In addition, how can we preserve our national culture, language, and religion? What should policymakers do to address these issues? What should NGOs do? What should individuals do? “I have discussed such sensitive issues with them.”
