Uyghur and Tibetan organizations are strengthening cooperation against China

Wasim Abdullah, President of the India Uyghur Society, and his delegation, representing the International East Turkistan Organizations Union, met with Tashi Targyal, Vice President of the Students for Free Tibet organization, in Dharamshala, India, on January 20.
During their discussions, both sides exchanged views on current issues and agreed to cooperate in their struggles against China's policies affecting both Tibetan and East Turkistan peoples.
On January 21, the delegation led by Wasim Abdullah also visited the "Students for a Free Tibet" organization in Dharamshala, which is fighting for Tibetan independence from China.
During this visit, they reached agreements on cooperation and unity in their regional activities against Chinese policies affecting both Tibet and East Turkistan.
The Uyghur Society in India was established in September of last year, with Wasim Abdullah appointed as both its president and the Indian representative of the International East Turkistan Organizations Union. Since its establishment, the society has been working to bring attention to East Turkistan issues in India.
