USA: WE WILL CANCEL THE VISAS OF CHINESE STUDENTS

The US administration announced that it will cancel visas for a large number of Chinese students. This harsh decision has caused concern among the Chinese.

The US State Department published a statement on its official website on the evening of May 28. The statement was titled "America first, not China, in the new visa policy."

In his statement, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that this harshly implemented move covers Chinese students who have ties to the Chinese Communist Party or who study in sensitive areas. In addition, it was stated that the US government will strengthen the examination of visa applicants from China and Hong Kong by making adjustments to visa approval criteria.

A few days before this decision was announced, Foreign Minister Marco Rubio sent orders to US embassies and consulates in various countries and temporarily suspended face-to-face student visa interviews.

According to numerical data, the number of Chinese students studying in the US last year reached approximately 280 thousand. Many US universities rely on international students as a significant source of income. Although the number of Chinese students coming to America to study has decreased due to reasons such as the Chinese virus and trade war, the largest group of foreign students in America is still Chinese.

Although the Trump administration has previously taken action to expel some foreign students and cancel thousands of visas, most of these measures were stopped by the courts.

This harsh decision by the American government has caused concern among Chinese students. Students have begun to worry about not being able to continue their education and receive a diploma.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded to a question on this issue last night, arguing that educational relations and scientific cooperation should not be obstructed and that it calls on the American government to protect the legal rights and interests of international students.

As is known, the Chinese communist regime has been carrying out espionage and high-tech theft for years through agents sent to the United States and other developed countries under the guise of students. Since this incident poses a great threat to the security of countries.
