US deports more than 120 Chinese nationals

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported 122 illegal immigrants to China this month on a special flight.

According to a report by Voice of America, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said in a statement on June 9 that the agency, which is part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, deported 122 illegal Chinese immigrants on June 3. The plane carried 96 men and 26 women, aged 19 to 68.

The deported Chinese immigrants include many convicted of crimes including murder, attempted murder, child molestation, human trafficking, rape and drug trafficking.

China is among the countries that refuse or delay the deportation of deportees, making it difficult for U.S. authorities to enforce deportation orders. China began accepting deportees from the United States in late June, the first time since 2018.

In April this year, the US Embassy in China published a statement on its official website in both Chinese and English titled “Don’t Trust Your Future: US Cracks Down on Illegal Immigration.” The statement said: “The United States will work closely with many other countries, including China, to enforce our immigration laws and crack down on dangerous human smugglers and trafficking networks. Since the start of President Trump’s second term, illegal immigrants from all over the world, including China, have been deported almost daily. It is not worth breaking the law and putting your life at risk.”
