A U.S. Navy Admiral planned to visit Australia amid heightened China-Australia tensions caused by dangerous military maneuvers.
According to ABC News Australia's February 14 report, U.S. Navy Admiral Samuel Paparo, who oversees preparations for potential overall conflict with China, will visit Australia next week. This visit comes at a time of increased tensions in the South China Sea due to dangerous maneuvers by Chinese military aircraft.
After the Australian government condemned dangerous maneuvers by Chinese warplanes against an Australian surveillance aircraft, China continued to deny its actions and claimed that Australia had violated Chinese sovereignty.
Currently, the United States has begun to refocus on the Indo-Pacific region against the backdrop of escalating military actions from both sides.
