Urgent! Press Release

48 Uyghurs detained in Thailand face deportation to China
48 Uyghurs Detained for 12 Years in Thai Detention Center, Awaiting Freedom and Family Reunification in Turkey, Face Deportation Risk to China
Despite the Thai Ambassador and Defense Minister's statements that they "will not hand over Uyghurs to China", concerns are growing about potential deportation at any moment, especially with the upcoming Thai government visit to China.
International human rights organizations have repeatedly warned of serious rights violations and life-threatening risks if these Uyghurs are handed over to China. Deportation would violate international law and humanitarian values amid Chinese genocidal policies in East Turkistan.
We call on President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to take urgent diplomatic action to transfer the detainees to Turkey and reunite them with their families.
We urge the Islamic world, international human rights organizations, and all people of conscience to act and raise their voices in support of our Uyghur brothers in Thailand.
