Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Shimshek will go to Beijing to attend the Second Meeting of the Turkey-China Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee (HIC). During this visit, Shimshek will discuss issues such as achieving a balanced structure in trade between the two countries and increasing investments from China.
COOPERATION OPPORTUNITIES WILL BE SEARCHED
Shimshek , who will begin his official contacts in Beijing on November 6, will attend the Joint Working Group Meeting to be held on harmonization of the Middle Corridor Initiative and the Belt and Road Initiative. In this meeting, cooperation opportunities between the two countries in areas such as land and air connections, green transformation, energy and industry will also be discussed. Shimshek will co-chair the HİK Meeting to be held on November 7 with Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Zhang Guoqing. In the meeting, which will also be attended by high-level representatives of the relevant ministries, cooperation opportunities under topics such as economy, trade, energy and security will be discussed.
TO MEET WITH CHINESE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS
Shimshek will also meet with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank President Jin Liqun in Beijing. In his meetings with leading Chinese financial institutions such as ICBC and Bank of China, opportunities will be discussed to reach a balanced structure in bilateral trade volume and to increase investments from China to Turkey.
