There was another earthquake in Akchi County

On February 24th and 25th, an earthquake of more than five magnitude occurred in Akchi County of East Turkistan.

According to the China Earthquake Reporting Network, at 04:58 on February 24, Urumqi, Akchi County (41.12 degrees north latitude, 78.54 degrees east longitude) experienced a 5.3-magnitude earthquake with a depth of 10 kilometers.

According to Chinese propaganda agencies, there are no towns within 20 kilometers of the earthquake site, and there are Akchi towns and Somtash villages within 50 kilometers.

The epicenter is 23 kilometers from Akchi County, 58 kilometers from Uchturpan County, and 803 kilometers from Urumqi City.

The China Earthquake Observatory said that at 10:14 in Urumqi on February 25, another 5.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Akchi County (41.15 degrees north latitude, 78.41 degrees east longitude). The depth of the earthquake source is 11 kilometers, and the average height of the five kilometers of the epicenter is about 2897 meters above sea level.

According to the China Earthquake Monitoring Network, a total of 341 earthquakes of magnitude three or higher occurred within 200 kilometers of the epicenter in the past five years. The largest earthquake occurred in Uchturpan County on January 23 of this year and was determined to be 7.1.
