The Uyghur Islamic Center, which was established in the United States several years ago, bought a new location after a long period of effort, and the opening ceremony of the new location was held on September 7.
In addition to the Uyghur community living in Virginia and Maryland, Uyghur, Uzbek, Turkish, and other ethnic Muslims from Texas, New York, Florida, and Pennsylvania, representatives of East Turkistan organizations, and other Islamic organizations attended the ceremony. The ceremony was also attended by the president of the Darunnur Mosque and Rafi, the representative of the All Justice Organization, which is active in the United States.
The ceremony began under the chairmanship of Mr. Arslan Hidayat, and first the Uyghur Black Quran was recited. Then Zulfiqar Mustafa, one of the board members of the Uyghur Islamic Center, briefly introduced the work of the Uyghur Islamic Center in the three years since its establishment on Eid 2021, the process of fundraising, the use of funds, and the development of the center.
In the middle of the ceremony, donations were collected to pay back the loans taken to buy the place and to repair it. During the fundraiser, two Uyghur ladies generously donated their expensive wedding rings and gold jewelry to the ceremony participants.
