The United States and Japan have planned to counter China through practical cooperation and establishing peace.
According to Voice of America on February 13, following last week's meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, both countries expressed unified positions on countering China in the Asia-Pacific region. Trump emphasized the need for close cooperation between the two countries to maintain peace and security, particularly in opposing China's economic aggression.
Ishiba emphasized that to achieve a free and open environment in the South Asia-Pacific region, it is crucial to strengthen and firmly maintain the Japan-U.S. alliance. He stressed that this is key to jointly advancing the interests of both countries and achieving peace and prosperity in the South Asia-Pacific region.
According to analysts, the first official dialogue between Trump and Ishiba was successful, with both officials reaching common ground on issues they considered important, including countering Chinese pressure and strengthening their respective national interests.
