The venerable elder Elikhan Hajim died

Elikhan Hajim, who contributed materially and spiritually to the religious and national awakening movement of the Uyghur people throughout his life, actively contributed to the independence struggle of East Turkistan, and was respected by the people at home and abroad, died on May 3 at the age of 82 in Istanbul.
Elikhan Hajim was born in 1942 in the village of Khmelchi, Qayyaq County. He studied primary school in the village of Khamelachi, and secondary school in the 1st school of the county. He received his primary religious education from his father, Imin Ahunum. In 1960, he went to the Urumqi Industrial and Architectural Technical School and studied for two years.
Elikhan Hajim received religious education from many scholars in Qayyaq County and worked with them in national and religious enlightenment and awakening. Until Elikhan Hajim went abroad, he became a well-known person who was respected by everyone in the affairs of inheritance in Qayyaq County and who separated the inheritance according to Islamic law.
In 1979, there was a wave of restoration of mosques, and a group of people such as Elikhan Hajim took this opportunity to act quickly and started the activity of rebuilding or renovating the mosques that were demolished or closed in the entire Qayyaq County.
In 1990, China arrested a group of people, including Elikhan Hajim, for the crime of "collecting money and forming an anti-Chinese organization" and sentenced them to three years in prison.
Elikhan Hajim copied many religious books during the period when there were no conditions for publishing religious books and the Chinese strictly prohibited them, and he helped to preserve some important works.
When Abdul Hakim Makhdum Hajim died in June 1993, his followers, including Hasan Makhdum, Abdul Qadir Yapchan, and Yusuf Qadir Khan, gathered at Eli Khan Hajim's house and prepared a condolence speech to read at Abdul Hakim Makhdum Hajim's funeral prayer. He was released from prison in April 1996 and operated under political supervision until he went abroad in 2012. In 2012, he migrated to Saudi Arabia using a different ID and passport to perform the Hajj. After performing Hajj, he returned to Turkey and lived there until his death. The descendants trained by the deceased are also contributing to the East Turkistan struggle in various fields.
The funeral prayer of the late Elikhan Hajim, who devoted his life to Islam, the motherland, and the nation, will be offered today at the Fatih Mosque in Safakoy, Istanbul, after the morning prayer.
