The meeting of the International Union of Muslim Scholars was successfully concluded

The sixth general meeting of the International Union of Muslim Scholars began on January 6 in Doha, the capital of Qatar, and successfully concluded on January 11. The conference was attended by nearly 1000 individuals, including prominent scholars, thinkers, and members of the Islamic community from around the world. A committee from the East Turkistan Scholars League also participated in the meeting by special invitation.
During the five-day conference, the challenges facing the Islamic world and the crimes committed by Israel in Palestine were discussed. The conference also highlighted the stance of Arab and Islamic countries regarding Israeli criminal acts. Additionally, the meeting addressed the plight of marginalized Muslims worldwide and emphasized the responsibilities of scholars in the Islamic world in this regard.
At the meeting, members of the union unanimously discussed changes to the union's charter, elected the president, six vice presidents, and 40 executive officials. Ali Muhyiddin Qaradagi was elected as the president of the union, and Mohammed Jorums was elected as the vice president, a former head of the Turkish Religious Directorate. Dr. Ataullah Shariar, the former president of the East Turkistan Scholars League, was elected as an executive member of the union.
During the meeting, the management council of the East Turkistan Scholars League separately met with scholars from various Islamic countries, detailing the current precarious situation of East Turkistan's people and the genocidal crimes committed against them.
Furthermore, the attendees affirmed that China is attempting to conceal its criminal activities from the international community, especially the Islamic world. They emphasized that Islamic countries should not fall into China's trap regarding the issue of East Turkistan.
The Chinese government sent several individuals from Tonga and Hong Kong to attend the meeting in an attempt to influence the scholars' perspectives. According to China's arrangement, they defended China in separate occasions before Muslim scholars and discussed the Uyghur issue in East Turkistan.
At the end of the meeting, a brief report on the current situation in East Turkistan was presented, and the management council of the East Turkistan Scholars League attended a dinner organized by the Turkish Consulate General in Qatar for the guests from Turkey.
