The issue of Uyghur Muslims.. Why is the media absent from the Arab platforms

Scholars and specialists in a seminar organized by "Insan center for Media Studies":

- China bans any Islamic activists or manifestations of Uyghurs and      works to blur their identity

- Arab and Islamic Media selectivity has created an insulating wall around the issue of "Uyghurs"

- China builds economic alliances with Arab regimes to silence them politically and in the media

- Attempts to forcibly impose Communist thought with internationally criminalized Nazi and racist practices

- The lack of strategy and funding behind the poor coverage of Muslim news around the world

Insan for Media Studies-Amani Mohammed:

Scholars and specialists discussed the repercussions of the Sino-Arab rapprochement on the Arab media's treatment of the issue of Uyghur Muslims in East Turkistan, and China's attempts to "Extinguish" this issue through lending and investment policies in the Middle East and the Arab region, and drawing new alliances with Arab regimes.

The discussions took place at the seminar organized by the Insan center for Media Studies in Istanbul, Tuesday June, entitled "The Decline of the role of the Arab media in covering the issue of Uyghur Muslims.. Reasons and solutions", presented by the media Nada Mahmoud.

Serious violations

Dr. Abdul-Warith Abdul - Khaliq, editor-in-chief of the East Turkistan news agency, explained that China practices serious violations against Uyghur Muslims, indicating the natural resources and geographical location of East Turkistan, which was occupied by China in 1949.

Abdulkhalik reviewed photos of violations suffered by Uyghur Muslims, foremost of which are arrests, in camps similar to Nazi camps, for everyone who practicing his right as a Muslim to worship, pray, read the Qoran, and when practicing any manifestation of Islam.

He spoke briefly about the rest of the violations, including:

- The establishment of Nazi camps in China, and camps with Muslim children for their maintenance (completely converting them to Chinese culture).

- Mass execution of Scholars, academics and artists without trial.

- Demolishing mosques and turning them into funerals and burning religious books.

- Change the adhan and residence permit, and in return hang the communist flag in the mihrab of the mosque.

- Prohibition of any manifestation of Islam, including clothing, names, prayer and possession of the Qur'an.

- Forcing Muslim girls to marry non-Muslim "communist Chinese", and also forced sterilization of women.

- Forcing families to host a Chinese person who lives with them to monitor whether they perform any form of worship.

- Trafficking in human organs, where China has established a black market for the trade of human organs and called it a halal organ market.

Non-interference policy

On the decline of the role of the Arab media in covering the issue of Uyghur Muslims, and how China is extending its political influence in the Middle East countries, political researcher and interested in political systems in the Middle East, Mohammed al-Baz, explained-through a research paper- How China was able to neutralize the influence of Arab and Islamic countries in supporting the Uyghur cause, and how the regimes were forced to turn a blind eye to the repression and persecution they are subjected to, pointing out that China is working to expand its economic influence with the Middle East countries, through support packages and economic cooperation unrestricted by harsh criticism of human rights and freedom of expression, which gains Chinese support at the expense of Western support accompanied by repeated demands for more support for Human Rights and democracy, a policy China calls "non-interference policy".

The debt trap and Chinese influence

El-Baz said:"Chinese debt is considered a safe haven for authoritarian regimes that do not respect the principles of transparency and freedom of information exchange, where a report by Adel Sabry, an economist specializing in Chinese affairs, in October 2021, showed that "when reviewing the report of the central bank and the state budget, for fiscal year 20/21, the disappearance of debt figures of local companies and entities that borrowed money from foreign countries and institutions in hard currency, which iconic or complex of ministries carried out by Chinese companies or the value of allocated loans The purchase of the capital's train and the high-speed train, as well as the value of loans obtained by the National Bank or Banque Misr, and business sector companies that alone received more than half a billion dollars from China to develop the textile sector, are debts that have become government debt,"he said.
