The International Union of Muslim Scholars calls for Uyghurs

The 7th Executive Board and 5th General Assembly Meeting of the International Union of Muslim Scholars was held in Istanbul on August 12th. During the meeting, religious scholars made important calls to the Islamic world on various issues, particularly regarding East Turkistan.
The meeting commenced with the recitation of the Quran and a prayer for Imam Sheikh Yusuf al-Kardawi, one of the founders of the Union. The opening also expressed gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for hosting religious scholars of the Muslim ummah to discuss the interests of all Muslims.
NO INSULTS TO QURAN AND PROPHET
During the meeting, important decisions were taken concerning the internal workings of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, the general situation of Muslims in various countries, and future actions. This included plans for an upcoming international symposium on the dangers facing Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque, combating the breakdown of families in the Islamic world, as well as a conference focused on atheism, its causes, and solutions.
In the conclusion statement of the 7th Executive Board and 5th General Assembly Meeting of the International Union of Muslim Scholars emphasized the condemnation of any violation against the sanctities of the Islamic ummah and, above all, denounced immoral insults directed towards the holy Quran and the Prophet Muhammad. It highlighted the increasing disrespectful insults towards the Quran and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the West.
"THE FLOW OF BLOOD MUST STOP"
The International Union of Muslim Scholars called for an end to the bloodshed in Sudan, stopping rebellion against the state, and giving importance to the administration of the country's affairs, the protection of its citizens and paying more attention to them, and the elimination of their concerns and troubles. The Union stressed that preventing the spread of various harmful ideologies and ideas that threaten the humanity is the duty of every Muslim. The Union also urged the release of political prisoners and intellectuals in the Islamic world, stating that an increase in such cases would harm national interests and weaken the capacity of Muslims.
CALL FOR EAST TURKISTAN
The Union called for an end to the injustices committed against oppressed people, particularly in East Turkistan and Arakan. It emphasized that these people should have the right to live with dignity, practice their basic religious rituals, and enjoy freedom of belief.
