The European Parliament has approved a regulation banning forced labor products

The European Parliament has overwhelmingly approved the Convention on the Prohibition of Forced Labor Products.
According to the news of the French international newspaper, the European Parliament voted on April 23 to approve the regulation banning the sale, import, and export of goods made using forced labor in the EU market.
The regulation was approved by 555 members in favor, 6 members opposed, and 45 members abstained. The charter will be officially published after the final approval of the Council of the European Union, and EU member states must start implementing the charter within three years.
According to the regulation, EU member state authorities and the European Commission can investigate suspicious goods, supply chains, and manufacturers. If a product is considered to have been produced with forced labour, it is not allowed to be sold on the EU market (including online sales).
Reuters reported that the resolution was approved by members of parliament concerned about human rights in East Turkistan.
The U.S. government claims that the suppression of Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples in East Turkistan is genocide.
The European Parliament's statement on this matter states that the investigation of forced labor products will be based on evidence obtained by international organizations, cooperation agencies, and whistleblowers.
