Statement from China on Turkistan Islamic Party

China's regime, which has defended its supposed "counter-terrorism" policies in East Turkistan since 2001 and tried to create a perception that it's fighting extremism and terrorism while committing genocide, recently made embarrassing statements about armed Uyghur mujahideen known as the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP), seemingly unaware of international developments.
Xu Guixiang, spokesperson for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) disinformation department of the so-called "Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region," claimed that while no terrorist incidents have occurred in the region since 2016, surrounding terrorist groups are attempting to infiltrate again.
CHINA: WE ARE DETERMINED IN OUR COUNTER-TERRORISM POLICY!
In an interview with Hong Kong-based Chinese-controlled Phoenix News Agency, Xu Guixiang responded to questions about global criticism of the region's repressive policies by claiming "stability has been achieved." While asserting that no terrorist incidents have occurred in the region since 2016 and maintaining their determination to continue the "fight against terrorism and radicalism," he notably linked the statements of the Turkistan Islamic Party, which has been occupying international attention, with developments in the Middle East.
In the interview, the Chinese reporter asked, "Despite the complex situation in the Middle East, can the current stability in Xinjiang be maintained?"
Xu Guixiang claimed that while no terrorist incidents have occurred in East Turkistan since 2016, they cannot become complacent as terrorist forces in surrounding areas remain active and may attempt to infiltrate again and create a new crisis. By arguing that counter-terrorism and defense are vital, he signaled the continuation of state repression policies in the region.
CHINESE NEWSPAPER MIMICS FREE PRESS
When asked about criticisms regarding the severe repression policies depriving people of their freedoms in East Turkistan, spokesperson Xu Guixiang arrogantly claimed that while people lived in fear in the past with no freedom to speak of, current "stability" has been achieved thanks to the Party government's correct ideology and human rights-guaranteeing policies.
CHINA'S UYGHUR INSOLENCE TOWARD SYRIA'S NEW GOVERNMENT
According to the South China Morning Post, a senior Chinese diplomat named Geng Shuang warned Damascus's newly established government not to support terrorism following TIP's propaganda video. During an ongoing UN briefing, the Chinese diplomat emphasized that Syrian territory should not be used to threaten other countries' security.
China has recently been trying to express its serious concerns about TIP's activities, particularly those associated with calls for jihad against China.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) and Uyghur mujahideen, who played a significant role in overthrowing the Assad regime in Syria, stated they would liberate East Turkistan just as Assad was overthrown. In TIP's recent propaganda video, Uyghur mujahideen declared, "We are now fighting for Allah here in Syria, in all these cities, and we will continue to do this in Urumqi, Aksu, and Kashgar in the future. We will chase away the Chinese infidels."
