Seminar on the Uyghur issue for the Arab and Islamic world

Insan for Media Studies held a seminar entitled " The Decline of the role of the Arab media in covering the issue of Uyghur Muslims.. Causes and solutions" on June 20, Istanbul, Turkey.

The seminar organized by Insan for Media Studies, attended by Dr.Abdul Warith khoten, chairman of the East Turkistan press and Media Association (Istiqlal Media Group-East Turkistan News Agency), Sheikh Mahmud Muhammad Turkistani, vice-chairman of the East Turkistan Scholars Association, as well as representatives from various media organizations.

The director of the East Turkistan news agency, Abdul Warith Khotan, spoke about the history of the East Turkistan issue to this day, and touched upon the geographical location of East Turkistan, its population, the date when the people of East Turkistan were honored with Islam, and the Chinese occupation in 1949. He also explained that China's current policies against Uyghur Muslims are actually a terrorist operation against Islam, and that thousands of Uyghurs have been forced to emigrate abroad due to China's genocide and open war on Islam.

In addition, Dr. Abdul Warith khotan expressed the terrible devastation caused by the policy of "Scinizing the Islamic religion to Chinese socialism" put forward by the perpetrator of the genocide Xi Jinping in 2017-2018, which resulted in the Chinese authorities demolishing and vandalizing mosques in East Turkistan, changing the adhan and residence, burning newspapers, Hadith and religious books, and the detention of scholars in Chinese concentration camps since 2016 about most of whom there is no news yet.

Sheikh Mahmoud Mohammed al-Turkistani, vice president of the East Turkistan Scholars Association, also stated that the phrase "East Turkistan issue is a political issue, not a religious issue" used by China to describe the East Turkistan issue in Chinese propaganda is a complete hoax, stressing that China has established close cooperation with Arab Muslim countries in order to highlight these words, and most Arab media follow the same path as China.

After that, he asked a question: "Why is China opposing and banning Islamic elements in East Turkistan?""In response to his question, he stressed that the Chinese authorities treat the Muslims of East Turkistan cruelly and brutally, unlike Chinese Muslims living in China. Moreover, they are trying to cover up their inhuman crimes with their economic and technological power. He also stressed that China has openly declared war on Islam and Muslims.

In addition, many Arab journalists and academics, in turn, expressed their opinions on the issue at the seminar.
