Report: 'Genocide Tourism' Continues

Despite strong evidence of the genocide in East Turkistan (Xinjiang) and its international attention, recent reports indicate that many international travel agencies continue to provide tourism services to the region, effectively becoming tools of Chinese propaganda.
The Uyghur Human Rights Project, based in Washington, D.C., published a new report titled "Genocide Tours: International Travel Companies in East Turkistan," covering international tourism companies in seven countries, on August 30th.
The report highlights that international travel companies in countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and others continue to offer travel services to Urumqi and Kashgar, indirectly supporting China's repressive policies and false propaganda.
COLLABORATING IN GENOCIDE
Henryk Szadziewski, the author of the report, emphasized in an interview with Voice of America (VOA) that organized travel to East Turkistan would be complicity in China's genocide. He called on international travel companies to immediately halt their tourism services to East Turkistan.
Following the release of the Uyghur Human Rights Project report, it was reported that two travel companies in Canada and Australia announced that they would cease offering travel services to East Turkistan.
The Chinese regime has been actively promoting international tourism in recent years, specifically designed to showcase fabricated, fake, and restricted locations in an effort to cover up the genocide in East Turkistan (Xinjiang).
About a week ago, on August 26th, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Xi Jinping, following a BRICS meeting, suddenly visited the central city of Urumqi. During this visit, he urged local authorities to effectively control illegal religious activities in East Turkistan and to further promote the "sinicization of Islam. He also emphasized the acceleration of services to encourage both local and foreign tourists to visit East Turkistan.
WHAT IS HAPPENING IN EAST TURKISTAN?
The systematic oppression and assimilation policies of the People's Republic of China government are subjecting the entire population in East Turkistan to mass assimilation and genocide. All non-Chinese Turkic-origin peoples in East Turkistan are victims of this oppression, which affects them culturally, religiously, politically, and ethnically.
The severe human rights violations in East Turkistan have escalated to the level of genocide, drawing attention from the global community. East Turkistan's Uyghurs and other Turkic ethnic groups are subjected to ethnic and cultural discrimination and human rights abuses and are used as cheap labor by Chinese companies. Official data has shown that the Chinese Communist Party has illegally detained millions of people in concentration camps and detention centers in East Turkistan, where they are subjected to inhumane conditions. However, the Chinese government continues to hide all data related to the situation of Uyghur Turks in these camps and tries to deny the genocide.
It is deeply concerning that even today, millions of innocent Uyghurs and other Turkic people are being held in concentration camps in East Turkistan (Xinjiang). This oppression continues with full force, and according to testimonies, detainees are subjected to torture. They live in unhealthy conditions with handcuffs on their hands and chains on their feet. Detainees are given unspecified drugs and injections, and they endure torture methods such as nail pulling, whipping, and electric shocks. Women are subjected to mass sexual abuse.
SUBJECTED TO SYSTEMATIC ASSIMILATION
Millions of young individuals in East Turkistan are forced into slave labor in labor camps or factories in China. Many are sent to detention and labor camps, while those left behind are forced to memorize political propaganda and engage in forced unpaid labor under the guise of public service. Women are sterilized, pregnant women are subjected to forced abortions, and young women are coerced into marriages with Chinese men. Approximately 800,000 Uyghur children who are separated from their families are being assimilated in "angelic nurseries," where they are groomed to become individuals completely disconnected from Uyghur culture. They are taught to speak Chinese, live like Chinese, and adopt communist ideology and worldview, with the aim of severing their ties to Uyghur identity.
The destruction of national and religious cultural heritage, Uyghur history and culture, Turkic-Islamic architecture, and the tombs of historical figures is a deeply troubling issue. Freedom of belief is being disregarded, with the destruction of 16,000 mosques and the burning of countless Uyghur-language religious texts, including the Quran. Practices like praying or fasting are used as reasons for being sent to concentration camps. Even having studied or traveled abroad, particularly to countries like Turkey, or simply having relatives who have done so, can lead to detention in concentration camps or imprisonment.
Under the "Kinship family" project, Chinese officials have been assigned to oversee each Turkic family. These so-called "siblings" violate family privacy by staying in Uyghur homes for extended periods, monitoring the loyalty of family members to the regime. This intrusive level of surveillance and control is deeply concerning and a violation of basic human rights.
