Philippine researchers boarded Chinese ships and landed on the disputed island

Philippine explorers have successfully broken through Chinese Coast Guard patrols and landed on a disputed islet in the South China Sea.
According to the news in the Voice of America, on March 22, with the help of military helicopters, the US Coast Guard prevented two government ships carrying researchers from the Philippines from heading to two disputed sand islands in the South China Sea. But the Filipino ships successfully broke through, went to the sand island and began scientific research.
Although the Chinese ship blew its whistle for half an hour and gave repeated warnings to prevent it, the Filipino scientists still insisted on going to the island and successfully landed on the two sand islands. They stayed on the island for four hours, exploring the sea and the diversity of life.
The incident occurred five kilometers from the Philippines-controlled Titu Island, which the Philippines calls "Sandy Cay" and the Chinese call it "Iron Khada Rock." China and the Philippines have had different statements about the incident.
Philippine Coast Guard spokesman and Coast Guard Chief Jay Tarila said at a press conference on Friday that Philippine marine researchers continued their search on the sand island for four hours, and dozens of Chinese "militia" vessels assisted the Chinese police vessels and tried to form a cordon.
