The NATO Parliamentary Assembly unanimously defined Russia's crimes against Ukraine as "genocide". On the other hand, it considered the Russian regime racist.
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly has recognized that Russia's crimes against Ukraine are genocide and that the regime in the Russian Federation is racist. The head of the Permanent Delegation of Ukraine to NATO, Igor Chernyov, made a statement on his social media account to the Ukrainian press.
On the adopted resolution, Igor Chernev said: “The NATO Parliamentary Assembly considered Russia's crimes against Ukraine as genocide and the terrorist regime in the Russian Federation as racist. We were able to make a very strong unanimous declaration at the session of the General Assembly in Luxembourg and it will be far-reaching.”
Igor Chernev urged the governments of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly countries to "clearly declare that Ukraine will be a member of the alliance at the Vilnius Summit and to agree on the next concrete steps for Ukraine's accession to NATO."
Igor Chernev called this a diplomatic victory, adding that "all his main wishes regarding the final text of the declaration were taken into account". "There is support for the international tribunal, assistance to Ukraine before and after victory, condemnation of racist ideology, restoration of territorial integrity, sanctions, reparations, the Marshall Plan, and much more," Chernyv said in the decision.
