Journalists gathered for the issue of East Turkistan

Representatives of Turkish and Arab media, TV channels and journalists came together to advocate for first-hand observation of the current situation in East Turkistan.
The event was supported by the Communication Forum and hosted by the International Union of East Turkistan Organizations, which was held on September 21 at the Fatih Janshah Sultan Cultural Center. More than 40 journalists from different media organizations participated in the event.
At the meeting, the president of the International Union of East Turkistan Organizations, Hidayutullah Oizkhan, made an opening speech. He stressed that China should take a place in the media for the genocide crime against the East Turkistan people as a strong agenda, and asked journalists to pay attention to this issue.
At the end of his speech, Hidayutullah Oizkhan said that the East Turkistan problem should be recognized as a problem of the nation, and he hoped that the Turkish world would pay attention to this problem from the view of brotherhood.
Mr. Yusuf Zia Chatakli, the president of the communication platform, spoke and said that the Palestinian issue and the tragedies happening in East Turkistan are two wounds that started and are bleeding at the same time. The East Turkistan people are disappearing in China's oppression. He said that it is important for the media to broadcast the voice of the East Turkistan people, who are under severe repression.
The head of the broadcasting department of the television station, the announcer Muhammad Ali Atayurt, introduced the television station and said that currently the Uyghur people in East Turkistan have absolutely no freedom of opinion, freedom of expression, freedom of the press, and publication, and there is no fully independent press-publishing organization that can express themselves. He said that the TV channel has made efforts to be the voice of the East Turkistan people.
He also said that the foreign television has faced various attacks and accusations from China, and that it has been hindered by the black hand extended abroad by means of openly targeting Chinese nationals, but despite many obstacles, the national television has continued to be the voice of the people of East Turkistan. He said that he is ready to cooperate with all media personnel in this field.
One of the reporters of the East Turkistan Human Rights Watch Association, which conducted research on the human rights violations in East Turkistan, Faiza Pinar Shioran, read the report prepared on the genocide crimes and human rights violations committed by China in East Turkistan.
