According to the information of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations on July 15, 642 houses were submerged in 3 villages in Mady, Datka and Bash-Bulak of the Kara-Suu district of the Osh region due to the flood on Sunday. 9 social facilities (4 schools, 1 kindergarten, 2 hospitals, 1 museum, and 1 FAP) were damaged.
Approximately 146 residences, 5 entertainment centers and 8 bridges were damaged in the city of Osh. According to the information obtained, 785 of the 842 containers in the central market were flooded. The mayor of Osh added that the data is still being clarified.
The bodies of 1 mother and her 2 children who were swept away by flood waters have been found so far, and the search for a missing person continues.
REPAIR WORKS CONTINUE AFTER THE FLOOD
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that post-flood restoration and cleaning work continues in the central market.
On the afternoon of July 14, the Ak-Buura river overflowed due to rain and flooded the central market and Toleykon village. Many cars were washed. Merchants and local people suffered great losses. The city is under a state of emergency.
Previously, the Kyrgyz Hydrometeorological Center had published an emergency weather report regarding the possibility of flooding in the mountainous regions of the country due to heavy rains between July 11-17.
This year's spring-summer months were rainy in Kyrgyzstan and there are floods in almost all regions.
According to previous official information, more than 230 flood accidents occurred this year, 17 people lost their lives, approximately 10 of them were children.
