Famous Turkish football clubs reported the genocide in East Turkistan

On the evening of February 10, a hashtag campaign “Uyghur genocide” took off on social media in Turkey, where a speech by Sui Wei, the former consul general of the communist Chinese authorities in Istanbul, about the Uyghurs in 2019, was reposted.
Turkish celebrities have expressed their support for the Uyghurs and accused China of committing genocide.
During the Spring Festival events held in March 2019, the Chinese Consul General at the time, Sui Wei, told a Doğan News Agency reporter, denying the genocidal policy being carried out in East Turkistan, and justifying China's crimes: "We are treating sick minds."
In response, the captain of Galatasaray FC, one of the most famous football clubs in Turkey, Kerim Akturkoglu, objected and reacted strongly on his social media account. “It is not their (Uyghur) minds that are sick, but the genocidal ideology that forcefully separates people from their families and imprisons them in Chinese concentration camps,” he wrote
Kerim Akturkoglu's statement became on Turkey's social media agenda in just an hour or two. Hundreds of thousands of people interacted, commented and shared. In addition, the Trabzon team, one of the most famous football clubs in Turkey, responded on its official account, stressing that they are expressing their anger at the oppression and persecution to which the Uyghur people are subjected by China. A number of media organizations and many celebrities also expressed their objection to Chinese oppression against the people of East Turkistan.
