Egypt says Arab countries reject Trump's Gaza plan

The Egyptian government told US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that Arab countries rejected Trump's Gaza plan.

The Asian section of the Japanese newspaper Konami reported on February 11 that Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdullah told US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that Arab countries rejected President Donald Trump's plan to expel Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

At a meeting in Washington, Badr Abdullah stressed the need to rebuild Gaza on the condition that Palestinians remain in the territory. The US State Department stressed the importance of Gaza governance and security cooperation.

Marco Rubio stressed that Hamas should not govern Gaza or pose a threat to Israel. Badr Abdullah also expressed his desire to cooperate with the new US administration to bring peace to the region.

It is reported that Trump's proposal for Egypt and Jordan to accept Palestinians has met with strong opposition from the Palestinian leadership and neighboring Arab countries. It is said that Trump's plan raises concerns of ethnic cleansing.

It is known that as a result of the war that began in October 2023, Israeli military action has caused severe casualties and displacement of the people of the Gaza Strip.
