Chinese expansionism destabilises Southeast Asia

The expansionist policies of China in the region and the brutality of Burma's military regime are causing concern among Southeast Asian countries.
According to a report from Radio France Internationale (RFI) dated September 7th, Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, who attended the ASEAN Summit, issued a warning of a new Cold War. It appears that ASEAN's ability to come together in response to China's expansionism in the region is becoming increasingly difficult.
The brutality of the Burmese military regime in the region and its growing closeness to China are confusing ASEAN member countries.
According to reports in the international media, the key issues at the ASEAN meeting are focused on two main points. One is the acts of violence against citizens by the Burmese military regime, and the other is the security problem caused by China's expansionist policies in the region.
It is known that the leaders of the 10 ASEAN member countries are eager during these meetings, but their ability to take effective action on these issues is generally considered to be inadequate.
PEACE PLAN ENTERS FINAL STAGE
During the summit held in Jakarta, Indonesia, state leaders strongly condemned the atrocities against civilians in Burma and acknowledged that the peace plan aimed at resolving the Burma crisis by 2021 has entered its final stage.
In related news, it is mentioned that there are disagreements among countries regarding territorial expansion in China, and reaching a consensus on this matter is gradually becoming more challenging.
Additionally, after the Chinese regime released the so-called "standard map 2023 version" on August 28th, it instructed the media, propaganda, books, magazines, newspaper clippings, advertisements, and handicrafts to use new maps. The so-called "standard map" depicts Taiwan, the South China Sea Islands, the Arunachal region on the India-China border, East Turkistan, Kashmir, and the Aksai Chin region on the China-Tibet border as Chinese territories. So far, six countries, including India, the Philippines, and Malaysia, have raised strong objections to China's imposition of the so-called "standard map."
