Uyghurs Meeting on Eid al-Adha

On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, Istanbul-based Uyghurs gathered at the Eid meeting held at a schoolyard in kocekcekmece district, Istanbul, Turkey, on the third day of Eid, June 30, 2023.

The event "traditional Eid al-Adha gathering" was organized by the International Union of East Turkistan organizations, on the third day of Eid al-Adha. Almost 200 people joined the meeting, including famous personalities of the Islamic world, mainly turkistanis from different countries of the world, members of various political parties in Turkey, presidents and representatives of non-governmental organizations, and residents of Istanbul.

Strengthening the people of East Turkistan

The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the opening speech of the President of the East Turkestan Union organizations, Hidayatullah Oguz, who congratulated the people of East Turkistan in the Eid al-Adha Diaspora, expressed his determination to protect his religious and national identity as a member of the nation that lost its faith and identity as a result of the systematic genocide committed by the Chinese Communist authorities against the people of East Turkistan, and stressed the importance of unity and teamwork.

He also stressed that the people of East Turkistan in the diaspora must assume their responsibilities and fulfill their promises, and that those oppressed who are suffering from the genocide in East Turkistan have high expectations and hopes for those immigrants living in the free world. He pointed out that East Turkistan will continue its struggle for independence, and the people of East Turkistan have the strong bond and brotherhood necessary to do so, possess the same awareness, sensitivity and purpose, and that this collective spirit should be strengthened more and more.

Revival of the spirit of sacrifice

The President of the Union concluded his speech by saying that the governor of Istanbul and the director of the Immigration Department in Istanbul congratulated all members of the people of East Turkistan on Eid al-Adha. After that, Abdulkadir yabjan made a speech about the importance of reviving the spirit of sacrifice in the people of East Turkistan.

Then Burhan kaunju, the President of the Turkistan Association, shared his feelings with those present, expressed their support for the cause of East Turkistan. In addition, a group of young people and children expressed their love and praise for Islam, homeland and nation by reciting various poems. Hundreds of children who participated in the event were also given Eid al-Adha treats. Then the meeting ended after the Uyghur Sheikh Niyaz prayed for the freedom of the people of occupied East Turkistan and the destruction of communist China.
