China targets 400 million tourists for "genocide tourism" in East Turkistan

China, which is attempting to conceal its crimes through genocidal tourism in East Turkistan, organized the so-called "Xinjiang Tourism Development Conference 2025" on May 25 in the city of Kuchar, Aksu Prefecture, and plans to further expand this crime.

According to a report by the Tianshan Network, a Chinese propaganda outlet, Chinese officials such as Ma Xingrui and Erkin Tuniyaz spoke at the conference and announced that, under Xi Jinping's directives, East Turkistan's tourism sector has been integrated into and strengthened by the "Ten Major Industrial Groups," the "Xinjiang Beautiful Place" brand has been created, and the integration and interconnectedness of various ethnic groups has been promoted.

The report indicated the reason for holding the conference in Kuchar, including phrases such as "demonstrating the powerful vitality of the millennium-old Kushan civilization... showcasing the diversity of Chinese culture."

Last July, China opened the Kuchar Ancient Underground Cemetery Museum, interpreting the construction characteristics of the ancient tombs and cultural elements in a manner contrary to science. It aggressively promoted its brazen propaganda that this cemetery "proves that East Turkistan was historically under Chinese rule, and that throughout history, not Turkic peoples like the Uyghurs lived in the various regions of East Turkistan, but rather that various ethnic groups in China coexisted." That same month, China also announced plans to build a large museum complex in the city of Kuchar.

Ambassadors from 33 countries residing in China, as well as government and business representatives, participated in this conference, which aimed to further develop genocide tourism in East Turkistan. They expressed support for this Chinese crime.

The conference announced the "Master Plan for the Development of the Cultural and Tourism Sector in the Uyghur Autonomous Region (2025-2030)." This plan envisions the total number of expected annual tourists to East Turkistan exceeding 400 million by 2030 and achieving a total trade income of one trillion yuan.

China has been establishing numerous tourist attractions in East Turkistan in recent years, focusing particularly on tourism. This is to conceal the ethnic genocide it is perpetrating against the Turkic peoples, particularly the Uyghurs, in East Turkistan, while simultaneously reaping significant economic benefits. In reports on these Chinese crimes, think tanks have revealed the involvement of numerous international tourism companies and international hotel branches in "genocide tourism."
