China Releases Electronic Warfare Systems Design Software

China has introduced its most powerful electronic warfare systems design software called "Yaoguang," drawing international attention.
According to today's report from Radio France Internationale, China's "Yaoguang" radar design system can complete the analysis of a new type of multi-band controlled radar antenna within 12 minutes, while America's Ansys HFSS industrial software takes three hours to complete the same task. Moreover, "Yaoguang" uses only one-sixth of the internal memory resources compared to the American software.
According to reports, this software is China's strategic tool that can theoretically validate next-generation electronic warfare system designs 15 times faster than American or other international competitors using the same computing resources. Researchers have proven that "Yaoguang" can analyze the electromagnetic propagation characteristics of large electromagnetic aircraft carriers and provide higher-level data compared to American software, reducing processing time by two-thirds.
The several-month free release of "Yaoguang" aims to increase its usage in China and other parts of the world. This strategy could not only strengthen China's technological independence but also potentially disrupt the global industrial design software market currently dominated by expensive Western products.
According to reports, "Yaoguang" is the result of many years of research and development by Professor Li Bin and his team at China's University of Electronic Science and Technology and is currently considered the world's most powerful electronic warfare systems design software. The software has shown effectiveness in complex electromagnetic field calculations.
In November, Li Bin and his team published an article revealing details of this software with multiple military applications. They also disclosed that "Yaoguang" can analyze the electromagnetic propagation characteristics of large electromagnetic catapult aircraft carriers.
