In addition to China's crimes of plundering East Turkistan's energy resources and transferring them to Chinese provinces, military training sites constructed in the desert and mock targets for attacks have caught the attention of international media.
Two reporters from the investigative department of the influential French newspaper Le Monde prepared a new documentary examining China's military forces. They identified approximately 30 models of military weapons constructed in the interior of the East Turkistan desert. These models are replicas of military equipment used in airports, ports, residential areas, and major military installations of China's rivals, such as the United States, Taiwan, and Japan.
It emerged that most of these facilities were constructed within the past two years. The reporters viewed this as a revealing observation of the Chinese forces' threatening tactics, detailing the escalating threats and aggressive actions China has taken against Taiwan in recent years, as well as Taiwan's resistance.
China's activities in constructing mock targets in the Taklamakan Desert have been exposed several times before. In a previous report based on satellite imagery, it was reported that the Chinese military had set up numerous mock targets and bases in the Taklamakan Desert, resembling American F-22 and F-35 fighter jets, and simulated runways. Bomb damage on the aircraft was also visible, indicating that the Chinese military was conducting training to attack enemy military bases and airfields.
