China protests US CIA's open recruitment of spies
China's Ministry of State Security stated that the US Central Intelligence Agency's open recruitment of spies violates international rules and claimed it will expose "all hidden spies" within China.
In a statement released by China's Ministry of State Security on Wednesday, it accused the Central Intelligence Agency of repeatedly attempting to contain China through actions such as stealing intelligence, infiltration, and sabotage against China.
The statement also said: "Recently, the US Central Intelligence Agency spread Chinese-language spy recruitment videos on social media, openly attempting to entice Chinese citizens into espionage. These carefully crafted advertisements fully reveal the absurd logic and paranoid fantasies of US intelligence agencies."
The US Central Intelligence Agency had distributed two Chinese-language videos the previous month, encouraging Chinese officials to send classified information to the United States. The Central Intelligence Agency said that through these videos, it conveyed information to Chinese officials about methods to establish secret contact with them and that the US government could provide security for Chinese officials and their families. At the same time, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed dissatisfaction with this.
