China is propagandizing and whitewashing its crime of forcibly assimilating the Uyghur culture.

China has been continuously perpetrating and intensifying the crime of forcibly assimilating the culture of the Turkic peoples, including the Uyghurs, ever since its occupation of East Turkistan. It is whitewashing this crime through its false propaganda.
The propaganda organ of China in East Turkistan, the Tianshan Net, recently published a news article titled "I consider myself lucky to be able to tie a ribbon to the Jingju Theater", which narrates the ridiculous story of an Uyghur girl becoming enamored with China's Jingju (Beijing Opera) theater and enduring hardships to learn it.
The article describes a 20-year-old Uyghur girl named Ferizana Ferhat, who, from a young age, had a passion for the costumes and makeup of the Jingju theater. It states that she was "very fortunately" selected to attend the so-called "Xinjiang" class under the Sichuan Theater Institute's secondary school, where she began to diligently learn the Jingju theater.
The report characterizes the Jingju theater as "traditional theater" and includes fabricated claims that the Uyghur girl's grandparents enthusiastically support her learning the Jingju theater, even though they don't understand it.
In reality, even modern-day Chinese youth have little interest in these traditional Chinese theatrical forms, which are now largely confined to stages and television. However, China is forcibly assimilating these theatrical traditions, clothing customs, and festivals onto the Uyghurs under the guise of "traditional culture" and whitewashing these crimes through false propaganda. Previous short videos and images have also shown Uyghur youth in secondary schools being forced to perform Chinese theater and games while wearing Chinese attire.
