"The Chinese regime intensifies its efforts to sinicize the Uyghur people in East Turkistan, implementing a policy known as the 'Uyghur Autonomous Region Minors Protection Ordinance' to further suppress the Uyghurs.
The East Turkistan crackdown organization revealed that on November 5th, the 'Uyghur Autonomous Region Minors Protection Ordinance' was announced, emphasizing its commitment to pushing for this policy. This ordinance, as of May 27, 2022, has been amended in the 33rd session of the Permanent Committee of the 13th 'Uyghur Autonomous Region Autonomy.'
This policy specifically targets individuals under the age of 18, referring to them as 'minors,' which is in alignment with the policies put in place following the events of July 5, 2009. The 14th session of the Permanent Committee of the 11th 'Uyghur Autonomous Region Autonomy' in 2009 laid the groundwork for the policy that has now been revised.
China has persistently continued to implement the 'Minors Protection Ordinance' in East Turkistan for years, driven by its assimilationist policies aimed at erasing Uyghur culture and identity, which it perceives as a threat. The following contents are included in Articles 4, 5, and 38 of the aforementioned ordinance:
"Article 4: The government, society, school and family should cultivate general morals such as ideals, beliefs, ideas and morals, science, culture, law, national security, national unity, love for the motherland, love for the people, and love for socialism in minors, and make them the unity of the motherland. and must consciously protect national unity, combat the corruption of capitalism, feudalism and other corrupt ideas, prevent the penetration of terrorism, extremism, and separatism, guide minors to establish and implement socialist core values, and firmly establish the consciousness of the Chinese nation.
Article 5: No organization or individual is allowed to entice or force minors to participate in religious activities. It is not allowed to use religion to act as an obstacle to compulsory education.
Article 38 Cultural products such as books, newspapers and magazines, film and television programs, audio-video products, and electronic publications shall not contain content that promotes terrorism, extremism, separatism, etc.
At the end of the so-called "Regulations", China specifically warned that those who violated the provisions of these regulations will be punished by the security administration, and the perpetrators of the crime would be held criminally responsible.
Observers say that in recent years, China has sent millions of Uyghurs to prisons and camps under various pretexts, tortured and killed some of them, and countless Uyghurs are missing. The second step is to target young people in East Turkistan and brainwash them to become completely Chinese. .
Observers note that China's actions in recent years have included the mass detention and internment of millions of Uyghurs in various camps and detention centers, causing significant harm to some of them, eliminating some Uyghur individuals' existence, and targeting Uyghurs with systematic and legal persecution. They believe that China's real intention is to eliminate Uyghur identity, suppress the voice of voiceless Uyghurs, and mark some Uyghurs for total assimilation into China."
