The Chinese government is actively working to build and expand China’s energy resource industrial cluster in the region, making East Turkistan a key strategic energy base.
The Chinese government has launched a plan to build East Turkistan a key strategic energy base, is actively working to build and expand China’s energy resource industrial cluster in the region, and recently announced “various measures to promote the development of high-quality mining.”
According to a September 27 report by the China People’s Network, the government of the so-called “Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region” in East Turkistan has announced “various measures” to “strengthen green energy exploration, increase geological exploration assistance, promote the exploration and development of mineral resources, accelerate the exploration and development of methane gas resources, improve trade rules for the transfer of mineral rights, and strengthen scientific and technological innovation.”
The report also emphasizes that through the above-mentioned "measures," the new phase of mineral resource exploration will achieve the strategic action goal and give full play to the important role of East Turkistan in ensuring the security of the country’s energy and resources.
PURSUING TO CREATE AN INDUSTRIAL CLUSTER
In recent years, China has been trying to make East Turkistan a strategic energy base for China, expanding the exploitation of coal, oil, natural gas and various precious mineral resources, and trying to create an industrial cluster from China’s energy resources in various mining areas.
Experts say that the newly announced so-called “measures” are not only strategically important for the Chinese economy, but also one of the main reasons why China has committed genocide against Uyghurs in recent years.
In addition, the Chinese government’s “measures” to make East Turkistan an energy base are essentially a sign that its domestic and foreign ambitions are on the rise. As is known, the rich mineral resources of East Turkistan, which is under Chinese occupation, have become the mainstay of the Chinese economy today and play a key role in realizing China's "dream" of world dominance.
The Chinese Communist Party's strict monopoly on Uyghur mineral resources is considered to be one of the reasons for its intense oppression of the Uyghurs since 2017.
