The pace of Chinese settlement in East Turkistan has accelerated in recent years, as China continues to whitewash this crime using primitive propaganda tactics left over from the era of the so-called "Cultural Revolution."
According to a report published by the Chinese propaganda agency Tengri Tag on May 5, the report included a false propaganda story about Xi Jinping's response to a letter from so-called "Western Section Plan Volunteers" at Shahid Primary School in the village of Qaragul in Atush City, claiming that it "evoked a strong response among education workers, and the school was filled with enthusiasm."
The report claimed that the majority of the so-called "Western Section Plan Volunteers" were Chinese nationals from outside East Turkistan, that they had undertaken border protection and educational assistance, and that they would continue their work with greater dedication, inspired by Xi Jinping's words.
China has used this kind of propaganda technique throughout history, and fake propaganda stories such as "Mao Zedong's reply letter to the residents of such-and-such village, Jiang Zemin's letter to students..." have become familiar to the people of East Turkistan. This time, by repeating the same tactic, China is attempting to whitewash its long-standing crime of settling Chinese settlers on a large scale in occupied East Turkistan with special privileges and promoting the propaganda of transferring settlers.
