China is applying pressure on Uyghurs under the pretext of "security."

The "Public Education Era" platform organized a video conference on October 7th under the theme "The Xinjiang Model and China's Great Cage: Lessons to be Learned from Hong Kong." According to the information on the "Public Education Era" platform, a leading platform for Hong Kong's diaspora, this video conference aimed to shed light on "The Xinjiang Model and China's Great Cage: Lessons to be Learned from Hong Kong."
During the event, Dr. John Kamakura, a Japanese expert and author of the book "Xinjiang: 70 Years in the Chinese Trap," was invited as a speaker. He revealed the criminal activities of the Chinese Communist Party regime, describing 74 years of oppression and intimidation towards the people through his scholarly research.
Dr. John Kamakura, a professor at Josai University, one of the leading universities in Japan, spoke during the conference.
The Chinese regime has continued its persecution over the past seven years under the guise of "promoting Chinese national awareness" in East Turkistan from 2016 to 2017. This involved the construction of extensive punitive camps since 2015, where millions of innocent Uyghurs have been subjected to torture, forced sterilization, and forced assimilation, with many being detained against their will in repressive facilities.
It was also mentioned that China uses these camps for the so-called "anti-terrorism" campaign as defined by the government, highlighting that the torture and suppression occurring within them have reached horrifying proportions.
As for Hong Kong, at the end of the forum, John Kamakura revealed that the Chinese Communist Party regime oppresses the people of East Turkistan under the guise of "counter-terrorism." He stated that they have recently begun applying the "repressive model of East Turkistan" in Hong Kong and persecuting the Tibetan people, labeling both "unlawful organizations and extremists." This is done under the pretext that they share a similar fate with East Turkistan, which has faced Chinese pressure and oppression for 74 years. It was noted that China has systematically suppressed civilians using its fully-equipped army and police forces in the region for many years.
