China's foreign ministry has objected to India's deployment of troops along the disputed border, saying it is detrimental to peace and tranquility along the border.
According to Voice of America on March 8, many media reported that India has recently transferred 10,000 troops from its western border areas to the disputed areas on the India-Tibet border to protect the border areas in northern India's Porakand and Himachal provinces. The border area is 532 kilometers long.
At the Chinese Foreign Ministry's regular press conference on March 8, a Bloomberg reporter first asked China how it would react to India's deployment of 10,000 troops to the disputed border area. China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning replied: "India's increased military deployment in border areas is not beneficial to the two countries' efforts to defuse the border situation."
A Bloomberg reporter then added: "Does China consider India's move to increase troops on the border dangerous?" Is the Chinese military considering taking retaliatory measures against this?".
Mao did not directly answer the reporter's question: "India's actions are not conducive to border peace and tranquility." In addition to not being in line with the consensus of both sides, it is not conducive to reducing border tensions.
The territorial dispute between China and India has been ongoing, and numerous talks have yielded no progress.
