China discussed reviving its shrinking economy

The Politburo of the Communist Party of China held a meeting to discuss China's declining economy and anti-corruption initiatives.
Bloomberg reported on December 8 that 24 senior officials of the Chinese Communist Party, led by Xi Jinping, held an emergency meeting to discuss the 2024 economic policy and anti-corruption measures.
However, Chinese economists and policymakers at the meeting called for more proactive measures to achieve economic growth this year. It found that the official growth target for 2023 is around 5%, which is still on target. When China set its annual target earlier this year, many analysts thought it was too conservative. It has not yet been revealed how China will set its targets for next year.
