US urges China and Russia not to control nuclear weapons with artificial intelligence

The US has called on China and Russia not to control their nuclear weapons using artificial intelligence technology.
According to the May 2nd report of the French international newspaper, a senior US official called on China and Russia to follow the rules of deployment of nuclear weapons by manpower rather than by artificial intelligence, following the decision of the United States and other countries to deploy nuclear weapons.
US State Department arms control officer Paul Dean said at a briefing on Thursday that the United States has made a clear and firm commitment to full control of its nuclear weapons and not to use artificial intelligence, and that France and Britain have made the same decision.
He added: "We welcome China and Russia to make similar statements."
According to Reuters, US President Joe Biden is currently trying to hold separate talks with China on deepening its nuclear weapons policy and developing artificial intelligence.
China's Ministry of Defense has reportedly not commented on the matter. US Secretary of State Blinken discussed the expansion of artificial intelligence technology when he met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on April 26.
Blinken said the two sides have agreed to hold the first bilateral talks on artificial intelligence in the coming weeks, to discuss how to manage the risks and safety of the technology.
China has the world's second largest nuclear arsenal and has rapidly developed its nuclear arsenal. China first publicly invited the United States and other nuclear-armed powers in February of this year, and each side pledged not to use nuclear weapons against each other at the meeting.
