According to Voice of America, Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs released its annual foreign policy white paper this week. The book shows that Japan is facing its most serious and complex security situation since World War II, with challenges coming mainly from China, North Korea, and Russia. Although the report mentions North Korea's missile development and Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the strongest criticism is directed at China.

The report said: "China wants to unilaterally change the status quo in the East Sea and South Sea, including the Sinkako Islands, and continues to increase its military activities in the region. The security environment around Japan is facing the most dangerous situation since the Second World War.

The report also stated that China's military actions against Taiwan will increase Japan's vigilance. These changes include China conducting large-scale military exercises around Taiwan. China is claiming Taiwan as its territory and has promised to annex it to the mainland if necessary. The security and stability of the Taiwan Strait is the most important in the region.
