Japan's Bluestone Book focuses on China's threat in the Indo-Pacific

A new Blue Stone book released by Japan's foreign ministry focuses on China's threats in the Indo-Pacific region, and claims China must correct Japan's mistakes.
According to VOA, China has objected to the latest analysis of China's threats in the Indo-Pacific region, which was mentioned in Japan's Bluestone book, and declared that the threat was exaggerated and slanderous.
On April 16, the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs released the annual Blue Stone Book. The Blue Stone Book emphasizes that China's military operations are the biggest strategic challenge to the region and accuses China of its actions in the South China Sea and attempts to change the status quo in the East Sea and South China Sea.
According to Japanese media reports, Japan has stated for the first time since 2019 that it wants to establish a mutually beneficial relationship with China based on common strategic interests.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian rejected Japan's criticism at a press conference on April 16. He claimed that Japan used relevant documents to accuse and slander China and to exaggerate China's threats.

Yuki Tatsumi, director of Japanese affairs at the Smithsonian Center in Washington, said that in recent years, China's provocative actions in the East Sea and South China Sea have increased Japan's concern about China's military activities. In addition, China's hostility and aggressive behavior towards Taiwan has made Japan more worried.
