Annual report: China is committing genocide in East Turkistan

The US State Department released its 2023 Human Rights Report on Monday, reiterating that China is committing genocide in East Turkistan.
According to the Voice of America, the US Department of State released the "Human Rights Practices Report of Each Country" on April 22, 2023, raising concerns about human rights violations such as the Israel-Hamas conflict, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and China's East Turkistan. He mentioned genocide and crimes against humanity, the Uyghurs and other Turkic ethnic groups.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at a press conference on April 22: "Once again, we see human rights and the rule of law come under pressure in more parts of the world." In his speech, Blinken also emphasized that the Uyghurs in East Turkistan are victims of genocide and crimes against humanity, and said that the United States will continue to express concern about human rights violations by relevant governments.
In the China-related section of the report: "Genocide and crimes against humanity continued to occur in China this year, mainly against Uyghur Muslims and people of other religious faiths." By arbitrarily arresting many people and sending them to penal camps and prisons without trial, it is said that an unknown number of people are being forced to undergo so-called "re-education" during the day.
The report also expressed the US government's concerns about human rights issues in Hong Kong, and said China continued to deprive people of political freedom and autonomy in Hong Kong in 2023.
The report highlights the Chinese regime's illegal executions, disappearances, torture, transnational repression, arbitrary interference with people's privacy, restrictions on freedom of expression, freedom of the media, freedom of the internet, freedom of peaceful assembly, religion Crimes such as freedom of belief, freedom of association, strict restrictions on freedom of movement and residence, human trafficking and forced labor are described.
The US State Department's annual report focuses on human rights issues in nearly 200 countries and regions in seven major areas. These seven areas include human dignity, civil liberties, freedom of political participation, government corruption and lack of transparency, government human rights abuses, discrimination and social oppression, and the international community's attitude toward non-governmental investigations.
It is reported that Blinken will visit China from April 24 to 26. Robert Gilchrist, a senior official at the US State Department's Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor, said at a press conference that Blinken will present human rights issues to China at the highest level and most clearly.
