A senior US congressman visited Taiwan and reiterated his support for Taiwan's anti-aggression measures.
According to the news of the Voice of America, the chairman of the US House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs, Republican Michael McCall, led a delegation to visit Taiwan. On May 27, he held talks with Taiwan's new president, Lai Ching-de, and emphasized Taiwan's support for the anti-aggression of the Chinese communist regime.
This is the first US congressional delegation to visit Taiwan since Lai Chingde took the oath of office. Three days after Lai Chingde took office, the Chinese Communist regime held military exercises in the sea and airspace around Taiwan, which it claimed was a "warning to Taiwan independence forces."
When Michael Mikul met with Lai Qingde on Monday morning, he conveyed the position that the two parties in the US Congress are unanimous in their support for Taiwan.
Michael Micol condemned China's threatening military exercise in recent days: "This exercise shows that the Chinese Communist Party has no intention of peacefully conquering Taiwan" and blamed the Sino-Russian-Iranian cooperation: "We have not seen such detailed violence and open-mindedness since World War II. "We did not see aggression."
Lai Qingde thanked the US Congressman for his support of Taiwan and expressed his hope that the US Congress would continue to pass various bills to help Taiwan strengthen its self-defense capabilities.
