2.4 Million Cyber ​​Attacks from China Every Day

China's hacking activities are becoming increasingly serious. The Chinese government's cyberattacks against Taiwan reportedly doubled compared to the previous year, reaching an average of 2.4 million attacks per day.
A report published by Taiwan's National Security Bureau revealed that the Chinese government has increased its cyber attacks against Taiwan. According to the report, while China conducted an average of 1.2 million daily cyber attacks against Taiwan in 2023, this number doubled in 2024.
The report stated that cyber attacks against Taiwan's official departments doubled compared to the previous year, reaching an average of 2.4 million per day, with most attacks initiated by Chinese cyber forces.
CHINA'S HACKING ACTIVITIES ARE STEADILY INCREASING
The cyber attacks carried out by China reportedly targeted telecommunications, transportation, and defense sectors. The report noted, "Although many of these attacks were effectively detected and blocked, the increasing number of attacks shows that China's hacking activities are becoming increasingly serious."
The report indicated that China launched various cyber attacks targeting Taiwan's transportation and financial institutions' websites, coinciding with Chinese military exercises around the island. According to the report, this move signifies "increasing harassment effect and military intimidation."
Additionally, the report noted that Taiwanese officials' email addresses were targeted, with such efforts aimed at gaining advantages in political, military, technological, and economic fields.
Last week, China was accused by the US of stealing documents from the US Treasury Department.
