Facing increasing accusations of "genocide" against Uyghurs from more and more countries, the Chinese regime attempted to divert international attention by organizing the so-called "Xinjiang Human Rights Development Forum" in Urumqi. This was an effort to conceal the crime it committed against humanity.
According to a report on the China propaganda network, Tanrıdağ, the Chinese regime held the so-called "Xinjiang Human Rights Development Forum" on September 27th at Urumqi Pedagogical University in East Turkistan (Xinjiang). The forum included 12 individuals who were described as "researchers" and "experts" in relevant fields, representing institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China National University, Nanjing University, and other social science institutes, both within and outside East Turkistan.
SPEAKING WITH A CHINESE ACCENT
So-called experts who spoke entirely in the Chinese regime's voice claimed at the forum that the quality of life for people in East Turkistan from all ethnic groups has been continuously improved in every aspect of life, from integration into new technologies to dressing well and traveling in carriages to modern living conditions, all through the nourishment of Chinese culture.
Xu Jianying, who serves at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the China Borderland Research Institute, tried to justify the detention camp policies that have shattered countless families in the region by mentioning the so-called "vocational skill centers" created to ensure the "happy" lives of people from every ethnic background in Xinjiang.
Zhu Liu, a faculty member at the Law School of China National University, expressed his views on issues related to East Turkistan that have occasionally come up at the United Nations Human Rights Council. During the forum, these so-called experts delivered separate speeches, claiming that individuals from all ethnic backgrounds in East Turkistan supposedly work equally, freely, and with dignity under the protection of the party government. They also alleged that the accusations of "forced labor in East Turkistan" made by the West were fabricated lies designed to tarnish China, thus defending the communist regime.
11 COUNTRIES DECLARE CHINA AS PERPETRATOR OF GENOCIDE
China's persecution policies against Uyghur Turks have been recognized as "genocide" by the parliaments of the United States, the Netherlands, Canada, Lithuania, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, and Belgium. Additionally, countries like France, Japan, Ireland, and Taiwan have expressed serious concerns about China's actions.
While the East Turkistan issue has made its way onto the agendas of almost all international organizations, some countries and global entities continue to overlook it. However, the United Nations, the European Union, the G7, and NATO member countries have expressed serious concerns about China. Meanwhile, the Chinese government conceals all data regarding the real situation of Uyghur Turks in its detention camps from the global public. Additionally, it attempts to deny its inhumane practices in the region by using false and distorted information or by coercing individuals under its influence to provide forced testimonies.
CHINA DENIES ITS COMMITTED CRIMES
However, the Uyghurs in East Turkistan, who face ethnic and cultural discrimination, and systematic genocide, are being employed as cheap labor by Chinese companies. Muslim women are subjected to forced sterilization, while everything related to Islam and Turkish culture has been banned.
Furthermore, according to official United Nations data, more than 2 million Uyghur Turks are forcibly detained in detention camps in East Turkistan, where Beijing is accused of committing genocide. This number has not been revised by the UN for four years, while camp witnesses and leaked Chinese documents suggest that up to 8 million people have been intermittently detained since 2016.
