In the name of "Sinicization of Islam", the Chinese regime demolished the Nagyeng Mosque in Yunnan Province, which was decorated in the style of Islamic culture, and changed it into a Chinese temple.
According to a news report on February 20, United News Agency reported that in May last year, the Islamic-style structure, minaret, and domes of the famous Nagyeng Mosque in Tonghai County, Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, were forcibly burned down. During this process, protesting people and the police clashed.
Photos and videos shared on social media platforms such as Weibo and Shudidar show that China has already demolished the Nagyeng Mosque's airy dome and minaret, transforming it into a dense Chinese style.
In recent years, the Chinese regime has repeatedly emphasized and promoted that religious buildings must reflect the Chinese style. During this process, mosques throughout China were forcibly demolished or destroyed and converted to Chinese style. In the course of carrying out such a policy of terror against the Islamic culture, there have been many collective and individual conflicts between the disaffected people and the Chinese police.
The Nagyeng Mosque, which China has forced to change to the Chinese style this time, has a history of more than 600 years and was renovated in 2004 with public funds. The mosque building has four floors, a dome and four minarets, and it can accommodate more than 3,000 people. The Chinese regime forcibly remodeled this historic mosque in the style of Chinese temples.
In 2018, the Chinese regime launched a terror policy against Islam in the name of "Sinicization of Islam" and implemented this terror policy firstly in East Turkistan with severe repression. So far, more than 16,000 mosques in East Turkistan have been demolished, destroyed or converted into warehouses and teahouses. The minarets and domes of the mosques that survived the destruction were destroyed and the Islamic elements were completely destroyed. The protesting East Turkistan people were slandered as "terrorists" and "brutals" and were sent to prisons and punishment camps.
Currently, China has comprehensively banned all religious activities and worship of East Turkistan people, and has not even allowed them to pray for the dead. Although China has continued this kind of terror policy in East Turkistan, it has denied these criminal acts and is deceiving the international community, especially the Islamic world.
